Pet Zoo Week 2

What was new in the pet zoo this week? Well… This:

Our Polish hen, Anna, decided to lay her first ever egg. In January. I can’t wait to try and hatch a few of her eggs! 🙂 She’s not the only one – some of the ducks are hiding and trying to make nests, hoping I won’t notice. But I’m on to them. Not letting you keep your eggs until the spring, girls!!

Even the wild birds are already checking out nesting sites. These two rose-ringed parakeets are investigating the treehole made by woodpeckers.

Our baby bunnies are now 6 weeks old. Usually I wait until 2 months to rehome them, but there were so many that you practically couldn’t see the cage floor anymore. They were doing so well and getting so big, that I decided to move them out. A useful new contact came to take them, for pet corners in schools. He assured me that they would be well looked after.
But I kept these four lovely girls in shades of grey (at least I hope I am right about them being girls!)

Zrizi is doing well. I moved him out of the males’ cage, because Blackie started chasing him around. Now he lives with the girls and seems very content!

Hope you had a good week too! 💚

The baby bunnies are so cute. Thanks for sharing! We have two bunnies, one lion head one called Chia and the other is a Spoon eared rabbit called, you guessed it, Spoony! I have just started a poetry blog here on WordPress in case you have time to have a look? Have a good afternoon, Sam 🙂
