I don’t know how all these people know we are here, but we get a lot of people lately that try to give us their unwanted rabbits. It worries me a little because we have so many rabbits already, but, confronted with a fluffy little face, I find it very hard to say no. So here we are, I give you our latest adopted bunny: Louise!
I suspect Louise comes straight out of a pet shop. A mother with a teenage daughter came carrying the brand-new cage, explaining that the girl’s brother gave the bunny to her as a gift, but she didn’t have time for it. My pet zoo partner S. was there and started into the usual responsibility lecture, when she caught sight of the most adorable, fluffy little lop-eared bunny she had ever seen.
So she started backtracking hastily and called me to come have a look. Of course, I also fell in love with that innocent little face. How can you not!
Even the back of her head is cute! Those helicopter ears! 😍 She was also extremely gentle and easy to pet and pick up. The perfect bunny for children. So we accepted her with good grace and called her “Louise”, because the lady who brought her had a French accent. 🙂
We tried to integrate her into one of the cages and it went smoother than I had ever seen rabbit introductions go. They accepted her without question. This little bunny will go far in life! Here she is with Angie, Phoebe and Shugi:
Doesn’t it look as if they are having a huddled, whispered conversation about the humans! 😀
