Spring babies

Spring is around the corner and breeding season has started for all animals! There is lots of egg laying, brooding, singing and pretty feathers! Just wanted to show off some pictures of our (potential) new arrivals:

Bella the muscovy duck has hatched 6 ducklings. The eggs take 35 days to hatch, so she’s had a long sit. They are in a cage for protection against crows and cats. Adorable little yellow fuzzballs!

A new litter of 6 baby bunnies! These are lionheads and I am very excited to see how they will turn out. Baby bunnies are born bald, blind and deaf. They are about a week old here. Sweet little springrolls!

Three tiny little baby guinea pigs! We did not plan these but due to a mistake some of the females ended up pregnant. Fortunately the mummy of these babies is perfectly fine! Baby piggies are born fully furred, with eyes open and ready to run. And incredibly cute!

Ducks are building nests, one of our chickens started to brood, the little quail hen is still sitting on her nest and we have found the first guinea fowl egg.

Happy spring!! :)🐣
